Beginning of Class
I begin my Reiki Level I class with a short grounding meditation that serves to help students transition from the hectic lives many lead to a calmer place. We then do a check-in with each person sharing a bit about themselves and what brought them to take the class. This helps connect participants and enables the group bond. It is my goal to make the class a healing experience as students travel through the Reiki Level I class.
Getting into the Understanding of Reiki Level I
At this point students get a folder with lots of hand-outs I’ve created. We talk about what Reiki is, Reiki’s history, and how it works – including a supporting unit that helps students understand how energy anatomy relates to Reiki.
What comes next?
After a short break for tea and snacks, (these are interspersed throughout the day) we talk about the attunement process, what it means and what students might experience during and afterwards. I then lead the group in a guided visualization. Afterwards we move to another area for their attunements.
Mid-day
After the attunements and a brief check-in it’s time for lunch. Lunch is a special time in my classes. Students share a healthy gourmet lunch and get to know each other in a casual, relaxed atmosphere. Many say this is a very special part of the class experience.
Afternoon
After lunch, we gather and practice Reiki on ourselves. Next students receive detailed instruction about giving a Reiki treatment. They then practice giving and receiving Reiki treatments with me overseeing and facilitating. After a brief check-in, we do Reiki as a group where one person receives Reiki from all the others. Our Reiki Level I Class culminates with students receiving a certificate and some words of empowerment from me.
What students say….
Thank so you very much for a wonderful day and great class. I feel that you are very down to earth and I appreciated that. I look forward to taking the Reiki II class in the future with you. Chrystal
I have experienced in your class a sense of warmth and wonder and an atmosphere that promotes a feeling of love and security. And I feel that I can share that with others. It has been delightful meeting new and interesting people in your home. Blessings to you, Maria
