More about Reiki
Dr. Mikao Usui founded this method of healing in the early 1900s and brought it into prominence during the after effects of the Kanto earthquake when he helped numerous victims. It is a very simple yet powerful healing art that can be used on you as well as others and can be easily learned by everyone.
The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words- – “rei”, meaning Universal Spirit, and “ki” , meaning “life force energy”. The word Reiki, therefore, refers to a balanced cosmic and life force energy.
Reiki’s purpose is to assist the body in its on going quest for perfect health by seeking to balance areas of imbalance. It is well known that stress is a prominent factor in the reduction of the immune system’s effectiveness. Disease is often the result of stress compromising the immune system.
Reiki’s goal is to restore and maintain balance. Because of its unique qualities, Reiki seems to have a basic consciousness which, when used for healing, is able to provide exactly what is needed on all levels. Reiki treatments work by dissolving or eliminating toxic energy and substances from many levels of ones being whether it is physical, emotional, or mental. Its non-evasive nature is conducive to working with any other type of treatment.
Reiki is effective in treating many ailments such as back pain and arthritis as well as serious illnesses like cancer and lupus. It is currently used in many hospitals throughout the United States such as Sloan Kettering, Manhattan Eye and Ear, Marin General and Tucson Medical Center. Reiki has been used successfully in the operating rooms of Columbia Presbyterian, notably with the famous heart surgeon, Memet Oz.
Reiki is a safe, highly effective, non-invasive healing modality whose popularity is rapidly growing throughout the country.
