The Joys of Teaching Reiki
Although I’m a Reiki Master on Long Island involved in all aspects of the practice, from healing clients to giving talks to community groups, it’s the teaching of Reiki that most makes my heart swell with joy. From empowering students to sharing their successes, I’d like to tell you about this joy.
After I’d been involved with Reiki for many years, I realized that I wanted to share my knowledge with others in order to reach a larger audience. I challenged myself to teach in a way that not only informed but also empowered.
It has been exciting to me to find ways to bolster my students’ self-confidence. One of the tools that I’ve developed has been the “Just do it!” motto handout. Simplistic as it sounds, it has served as a powerful reminder to the students that they already possess all the skills necessary for effective healing upon completion of the class.
Information and motivation alone, however, are not enough. They need to be done in the right physical environment. For this reason I’ve taken pride in creating a serene, uplifting surrounding. Students sit on comfortable chairs and couches around a fireplace with the surrounding area carefully adorned with candles, fresh flowers and green plants.
At the heart of the experience are the warm human interactions and personal relationships. I take great satisfaction in bringing together a group of strangers, who, during the course of the day, grow close to each other, sometimes forming lasting support networks.
Equally satisfying are the on-going mentoring relationships I’ve had with students, as I help them develop as healers. Like icing on the cake of joy, celebrating the healing successes with my students brings its own special sweetness. Imagine my feeling upon receiving a call from a recent trainee, a nurse, who happily reported that she’d just stabilized a patient’s blood pressure in the OR, to the astonishment of several observing doctors.
As you can see teaching Reiki has brought me many joyous treasures. However, the deepest joy of all comes from the awareness that this teaching is helping to create health and wellness for my students and everyone they touch, as well as spreading the word of this amazingly effective healing art.

What Students Have to Say About Reiki Classes
Thank so you very much for a wonderful day and great class. I feel that you are very down to earth and I appreciated that. I look forward to taking the Reiki II class in the future with you.

It is said not to change horses in midstream, but that is just what I did with my Reiki studies. I was so impressed with Donna’s enthusiasm, sincerity, and dedication to Reiki that I chose to continue my studies all the way through mastership, with her. It is my goal to do her proud by continuing in our lineage as a Reiki practitioner and Master, putting forth the same dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm that I learned from Donna.
