What are ways to achieve Self-Care for Reiki Practitioners?
Sessions with your Reiki Master
I have worked with my Reiki Master for over two decades. I do regular sessions with her to this day. Why? Because I owe it to my clients and students. The more healing I do on myself, the better I’ll be able to heal my clients. I am a better healer today, than I was last month and will be a better healer in the future by doing regular healing sessions.
Meditation
Meditation is a wonderful modality that can provide Self-Care for Reiki Practitioners. There are many misconceptions about meditation. It doesn’t have to be an arduous process. You can start with as little as one minute a day. Surely everyone can find one minute in their day! The most important thing about meditating is to “just do it”. It’s about taking time to just “be”. John Kabat Zin is one of the foremost experts on meditation. You may want to check out his video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8zs8tJlkZM . Tara Brach is another wonderful meditation resource: https://www.tarabrach.com/guided-meditations/ .
Yoga
According to Wikipedia, “Yoga is a group of physical, mental, and spiritual practices or disciplines which originated in ancient India”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoga. The good thing about Yoga is that it is readily available these days. Remember it was originally used by the Yogis so they could condition their bodies to sit for hours in meditation. This was a way they practiced self-care and is another wonderful modality that provides Self-Care for Reiki Practitioners.
Psychotherapy
I believe everyone can benefit from an inward process with a skilled psychotherapist. Finding a skilled therapist is the challenge. However it’s a lot like finding a skilled Reiki Master, so apply this process.
I hope this article has helped you understand why Self-Care for Reiki Practitioners is important.
